What is Dwijing Festival?
The Dwijing Festival is one of the biggest river festivals which is celebrated in the AIE RIVER Chirang in the BTAD region. This colorful event is organized mainly to celebrate the New Year with its various events like ethnic trade and food festival, exhibition, games & sports, river campaign & adventure and various cultural programs which make it a center of attraction for the visitors. Starting with Aie River which also means “Mother” which flaws from the Himalayan Mountains of Bhutan flowing through the Chirang and Bongaigaon districts of Assam and falls in the river Brahmaputra. The Aie river also plays a vital role to near about 30000 families in the Chirang district for their daily livelihoods through Crops, Fishing, Stone & Sand Collection, and many other activities. Bagurumba
(Bodo: बागुरुम्बा) Bagurumba is a folk dance of indigenous Bodo tribe in Assam and Northeast India. It is a traditional dance which is traditionally inherent to one generation to another generations. The Bodo women perform the Bagurumba dance with their colourful dokhna, jwmgra (fasra) and aronai.
